Knowledge Transfer Funding

Businesses can access Government funding by working with the University to deliver bottom line benefit. Building on the principle that two heads are better than one, we have shown that knowledge transfer can lead to tangible commercial benefits for businesses and provide them with the best people to strengthen their business.

The Commercial Services Office manages access to University expertise research and funding to ensure the quality of service delivery meets business requirements.

Some of the funding schemes available are:

Knowledge Transfer Partnership
Upto 60% funding for companies to implement tactical or strategic projects and train a member of staff with the support and access to University staff and facilities. These are Government funded initiatives which are highly structured and have been demonstrated to deliver bottom line business improvement.

A4B
This is a £75M programme funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and European Structural Funds aimed at providing a simplified, integrated package of support for knowledge transfer from academia to business.

SIP
The Strategic Insight Programme (SIP) aims to initiate links between Universities and external organisations byf funding staff to spend upto 50 hours working with external organisations.
